Is Cardio Necessary for Fat Loss or Is Diet Enough?

Hey everyone, I just started my fat loss cutting phase and I’m confused.

Some people say diet alone is enough to lose fat, while others say cardio is a must.

Right now I’m doing a Full Body workout 3x/week and trying to eat less.

Do I really need cardio, or can I skip it?

Good question, this confuses a lot of people.

Technically, you can lose fat with just diet (calorie deficit). That’s the main thing.

BUT cardio makes it easier because:Burns extra calories,Improves stamina,Helps you stay in deficit without starving

When I did my last cut, I used Push/Pull/Legs + 20 min cardio after workouts, and it worked really well.

Agree with coach here 👍

I made the mistake of doing 1 hour cardio daily during my first cut 😅

Lost weight, but also lost strength.

Now I keep it simple by15–25 mins cardio,4–5 days/week,Focus more on weights

Adding my experience 👋

I don’t enjoy cardio much, so during my cut I focused on:

Upper/Lower split (4 days)
Steps (8–10k daily instead of intense cardio)

Still lost fat steadily.

So yeah, cardio doesn’t have to mean treadmill torture 😄

Simple recommendation for William is that

Choose a workout split you enjoy.

Maintain calorie deficit.

Keep protein high to preserve muscle.

Add 15–20 min light cardio OR increase daily steps
