Well if you could sell him at least one of your items you could do local pickup and then when he gets there you can show him the rest . Even if you sell something that cost a dollar you won’t violate eBay’s policy.. or if you don’t have anything that cheap sell him something then when he comes to pick it up sell him whatever else you got and then refund him for the original sale if he doesn’t want that item
Taking transactions off ebay is a serious violation of their TOS and they WILL terminate your account if they catch anyone doing it. From what you are telling me, it is not worth the risk especially considering you do a fair amount of business on there.
They are aware of all the ways people attempt to do this and almost for sure their AI algorithm examines messages looking for this.
Well if he would have came to an agreement on that first transaction and did local pickup there’s no way in hell eBay would ever find out
The problem is he stated he only can contact them through the ebay mail system and the person don’t have his contact info, no he theres other than ebay which is done intentionally by ebay. Not saying he would get caught, but in theory and there are many documented cases of this happening, if you happen to message the otherperson alternate contact info, it would have to be done through the ebay system and then ebay could find out.
He said the guy was interested in one of the books yet they couldn’t come to a price. I was basically saying you don’t have to ship eBay items you could set up a pickup where they can actually come to your house and that’s perfectly legal I did it for 5 years. Then once he was there you could show him the other things. Problem is he didn’t sell him the initial book. Once you make the purchase he would have his address through eBay to go pick up the item. I haven’t sold in about 2 years so unless that’s changed as far as “local pickup” that’s the only way around it without just being bold. I believe he said they lived real close I violated eBay policies a handful of times and nothing ever happened but warnings.
Here I just looked it up. To get an eBay seller’s address for local pickup, you must complete the checkout process selecting “Local Pickup” as the shipping method. After payment, the seller’s address will be provided in your purchase confirmation email or by viewing the order invoice. Alternatively, message the seller via “Contact seller” to arrange the pickup location
I’ve seen people get banned for less. Even if the comics aren’t listed, eBay views any contact sharing as an attempt to bypass fees. Maybe just tell him to keep an eye on your listings and if you decide to post them later, you’ll let him know through the platform.
