Best Strength Training Approach – Full Body vs Split Programs?

Hey guys, I just started lifting 2 months ago. I keep seeing people talk about full body strength programs vs bro splits.

What’s actually better for getting strong fast? I want to focus on compound lifts like squat and bench.

Full body is way better early on. I ran a 3x/week full body program for my first year and my squat jumped like crazy.

Bro splits are overrated for beginners IMO.

I’ll push back slightly here. It’s not that splits are bad, it’s that beginners usually don’t have the recovery capacity or volume management skills to benefit from them.

Full body or upper/lower gives better frequency for strength gains on compound lifts.

Disagree a bit. I switched to push/pull/legs and my strength went up more than full body.

I think it depends on intensity and not just program structure.
