Keep meal-prepped food fresh throughout the week by storing it in clean airtight containers refrigerating cooked meals within two hours using the freezer for meals you will eat later and reheating food thoroughly before eating it Always keep raw and cooked foods separate and avoid keeping cooked food in the refrigerator for more than three to four days.

I always separate foods like rice chicken and vegetables into individual containers when possible This helps me control my portions and makes it easier to reheat only what I plan to eat It also prevents me from repeatedly opening one large container.

One important thing is not to leave cooked food sitting on the kitchen counter for too long I put it into shallow containers so it cools quickly and refrigerate it within two hours This is especially important when preparing several gym meals at once.

For chicken and other cooked meats I use airtight containers and store them in the refrigerator for no more than three to four days If I prepare more portions than I can eat within that period I freeze the extra meals on the day I prepare them.

I freeze the meals that I plan to eat later in the week Instead of keeping all my food refrigerated for seven days I move a frozen portion into the refrigerator the night before I need it This makes weekly meal planning much easier.

I do not rely only on the smell or appearance of food to decide whether it is safe to eat Some harmful bacteria may not change how food looks or smells so I follow recommended storage times and discard food that has been stored unsafely.

I make sure the containers are completely clean and dry before adding freshly prepared food I also wash my hands before handling cooked meals because good hygiene helps reduce the risk of contamination during meal preparation.

Cooked rice needs special care because it can develop harmful bacteria if it is left at room temperature for too long I cool it quickly refrigerate it promptly and use it within a safe storage period or freeze it for later rather than leaving it out for hours.

For foods like oats and overnight oats I use clean airtight containers and refrigerate them immediately when they contain milk or yogurt I prepare only the portions I can safely store and eat within a few days.

I label each container with the cooking date so I know which meal should be eaten first This simple habit helps me avoid forgetting older meals at the back of the fridge and makes my weekly food routine more organized.
