We all know that food prices have gone up a shit ton over the past 2 years. So what are your go to for meals if you’re trying to either muscle bulk or maintain?
I’ve been making this rice and beans recipe that’s kidney beans, basmati rice, diced celery, bell peppers, and onions with some tomato paste. I even add some spinach in it I can for extra nutrients and vitamins. I also do chicken thighs too. Even chicken breasts are expensive now. Drumsticks are cheap but I can’t stomach anymore drumsticks. So sick of eating them.
I’ve had a budget of about $50 a week for groceries for the last 5 years but it’s starting to get more and more difficult, especially with the rising cost of meat.
Just don’t want to sacrifice my health though buying low quality cheap stuff as well.
Edit: also I realized after posting I used the wrong flair lol
Shredded rotisserie chicken from Sam’s or Costco, rice, and broccoli.
This only works if sam’s/ Costco. Regular grocery store >$8. Sometimes soon to be expired ones are half off.
I second the rotisserie chicken idea. You can also save the bones and toss them in the instant pot for a soup.
I’ve been sleeping on my nutrition lately. This post was a wake-up call.
Liquid calories are my secret weapon for hitting my bulk targets.
I’ve always been a ‘see-food’ eater, but I’m starting to see the value in tracking.
