When do you weigh yourself? Daily Weigh

I’ve been in the habit of weighing myself every morning right after using the restroom. Lately, I’ve been questioning whether this is the healthiest approach for my mindset. There are days when I get discouraged seeing only a slight drop in weight from the day before. On the other hand, I feel like just weighing myself once a week might be a waste of time because I want to stay on track and make adjustments based on my daily progress. I can better understand how my previous day’s choices affected my weight and make necessary changes.

Daily. But, I don’t put any thought into a single number. Rather, I log it into my tracker and look at the long term graph (3 months plus) of my daily weigh in data to assess the trend.

Example: today I weighed 3lbs more than yesterday. Does that mean I gained 3lbs? No, it’s because I had a lot of salt (soy sauce) and fibre (broccoli) at dinner last night. I’m just holding onto 3 more pounds of water this morning compared to yesterday morning.

This is what works for me too. One weigh in per week put too much pressure / importance on that weigh in. If I didn’t lose, I’d be depressed/angry for days that I “wasted” a week.

Well framed. I think this is whats happening to me because I weigh myself weekly.

Same here. I weigh everyday at the same time. It is just data though. I might tweak things if the weekly or even monthly trend warrants it. My record 1 day gain is 5lbs at all you can eat sushi!!!! Soy sauce and rice does it every time.

I’m the same way, but it definitely depends on a personal mindset. If one thinks it could be unhealthy, try just doing once a week. For myself, daily helps keep me on track and a reminder what(who) I’m doing this for. My future self seriously deserves a good life.

I weight in daily because I’m data motivated, BUT I don’t sweat the daily fluctuations because that’s just the body doing body things. It will fluctuates no matter what.
