Gym Date Ideas for Fitness Fanatics

Gym dates can be a fun and healthy way to get to know someone new or to energize your existing relationship. However, they can also be a bit intimidating, especially if you’re not used to working out with a partner. Before you plan your gym date, make sure that you choose the right gym. Look for a gym that’s convenient for both of you and that has the equipment and facilities that you need. If you’re both into weightlifting, for example, you’ll want to choose a gym that has a good selection of free weights and weight machines. If you’re more into cardio, look for a gym with plenty of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. And remember this is a date—so do a reccy beforehand and make sure it’s a nice enough place, with decent changing rooms, and that it doesn’t smell of stinky feet! Your date will thank you.

Make sure that you dress appropriately for your gym date. Wear clothes that are comfortable, breathable, and that allow you to move freely. Don’t wear anything too tight or restrictive, as this can be uncomfortable and may even impede your workout. You’ll also want to make sure your trainers provide good support and traction. But this isn’t a regular gym workout, it’s a gym date, remember! So, you might consider investing in some new sportswear rather than your usual tracksuit. 

There are a few reasons why working out al fresco can be a good thing to do with a date. Firstly, there’s a more casual atmosphere than traditional indoor gyms. This can help create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for a date. And of course, they are a bit more budget-friendly. Most outdoor gyms are free to use, so it’s less of a financial commitment and you can save your money for that post-workout treat instead.

Before you start your workout, take a few minutes to plan it out together. Decide which exercises you want to do and how many sets and reps you’ll do of each. This will help you stay focused and motivated, and will help you get the most out of your time at the gym. It also makes it feel like a collaborative date rather than one person’s idea of a good time. If there’s any exercise you hate or that makes you feel self-conscious about your body, you should feel confident enough to be honest and make sure this move doesn’t make it into your gym date routine.

Remember that you’re on this gym date to support each other, not to compete with each other. Encourage each other to push yourselves and to do your best, but don’t be overly critical or judgmental. Remember that everyone has their own fitness level and their own goals, so be respectful of each other’s abilities and limitations. 

Sounds obvious, but in the heat of the moment it’s easy to forget. Make sure that you stay hydrated during your gym date. Bring a water bottle with you and drink plenty of water throughout your workout. Dehydration can lead to fatigue and muscle cramps, so it’s important to stay hydrated if you want to get the most out of your workout and enjoy your date.

Above all, don’t forget  to have fun. Working out with a partner can be a great way to bond and to relish each other’s company, so don’t take it too seriously. Laugh, joke, and enjoy the experience together. Remember that both dating and working out are supposed to be fun, so make the most of it!
