I have seen shit like that actually many times over the years. It is not overly common considering the amount of packages they deal with, but mis-routes do happen and they certainly aren’t rare. I have had packages show up right at my local distribution center, then get sent to a location 6 hours away in the opposite direction, only to have to come all the way back.
