Hey, I’ve been trying to do a clean bulk for the first time ever, and I’ve been failing, miserably. I’m a full time student who also works 30 hours a week, so finding time to meal prep has been a struggle.
I have never intentionally done a dirty bulk either, nor have I heard much about doing dirty bulks. So, my questions are, is it better to dirty bulk than to not bulk at all? What are the repercussion of dirty bulking compared to clean bulking? Or should I just try harder to do my clean bulk?
Regardless of what bulk I do I’ll be trying my best to get my macros in. I’m just worried about putting on too much body fat %.
The bulking terms don’t have to do with quality of food. They refer to the surplus. A clean bulk is eating at a surplus of 300 cals over TDEE. dirty bulk is +500.
Each come with benefits and drawbacks. Clean bulk you minimize the amount of fat you gain so it’s easier to cut, but results are slower. With a dirty bulk you’ll gain quicker but you’ll also gain more fat.
Yeah, definitely trying to putting macros first. Thanks for the insight!
I was looking for exactly this. Thanks for the breakdown.
Great content. How would you adjust this for a 4-day split?
Thanks for sharing, I’m definitely adding this to my next cycle.
