I tried Melanotan II for aesthetic reasons more than gains. In LA u can’t underestimate the psychological boost of a solid tan. Started at 0.25mg daily to build tolerance. The first few days slight nausea but nothing too bad. By week two skin started darkening and by week four my summer-bro look was full effect. The bonus I got libido boost was real which some guys don’t talk about openly. I didn’t change my diet too much except eating skin-friendly foods like tomatoes and carrots. Shots were small and easy to manage. People at the gym noticed the glow first and asked about my routine. Not a muscle peptide but the confidence it gives is huge. I ran it for about 8 weeks until I reached my desired tone. Definitely a must-try if you care about aesthetics as much as strength.🏋🏽‍♀️ ⏩ 🏋🏻‍♀️

Complete rest involves no intentional exercise. Research consistently shows that active recovery produces faster recovery than complete rest for most exercise types (Sports Medicine, 2021). Light movement clears metabolic waste, maintains range of motion, and reduces perceived soreness better than doing nothing. However, specific situations call for complete rest.

The idea that recovery requires immobility is outdated. Modern sports science recognizes that gentle movement aids rather than hinders recovery. The key word is gentle. Active recovery means light activity, not additional training. Understanding this distinction prevents both under-recovery (from training through recovery) and over-rest (from avoiding beneficial movement).

Knowing when to choose each approach optimizes your recovery strategy.

Blood flow increase: Light movement pumps blood through muscles, delivering nutrients and removing waste products.

Lymphatic circulation: The lymphatic system has no pump and relies on movement. Activity drains accumulated fluid.

Range maintenance: Movement prevents the stiffness that develops from extended immobility.

Safeguard yourself from injury with these alternative exercises and approaches.

THERE'S NO EXERCISE guys love more to anchor their chest day workouts than the classic barbell bench press. It has most of the characteristics a good chest exercise needs: you'll place a ton of stimulus on the muscle group and it can be progressively overloaded. Do it wrong, however, and you might begin to experience some shoulder pain while bench pressing.

"No matter what kind of lifter you are, there's a very good chance that you either have dealt with shoulder pain, or you will deal with shoulder pain at some point from this lift," says Ebenezer Samuel, C.S.C.S., MH fitness director. "That can lead to little issues or more serious issues, depending on how you train and how you deal with that shoulder pain when it arrives."

Below, Samuel discusses what causes shoulder pain while benching, and four fixes you can implement stop pain in its tracks.

If you're already dealing with shoulder pain, there are a few things you can do so you can continue to pursue chest gains while bettering your mechanics to fix the pain you're dealing with.

We know it's hard to put down one of your favorite lifts. If you take a break by choice and focus on shoring up your weak points, you'll only have to press pause, rather than ruining the barbell bench for the rest of your lifting career. There's plenty of other equipment and exercises you can use to get those gains until that happens. Here are a few options.

The dumbbell bench press still allows for pressing heavy, without the extra stress of the closed chain of the barbell press. It allows you more mobility to un-shrug your shoulders and get your elbows into a proper position.

Putting the pain aside for a moment, the most frustrating thing about an injury is the setback it causes in your training or workout routine.

Some injuries are acute, occurring suddenly, as in the case of broken bones and torn ligaments. Others are chronic, developing gradually from overuse or misuse, as in the case of tendinitis or stress fractures. No matter the type, though, every injury needs to be rehabilitated in a safe, slow manner to ensure the area regains full function — sufficient strength, endurance, power and flexibility.

"What this looks like exactly and how long before you're back to full activity varies by the specific injury," says Dr. Vijay Jotwani, a sports medicine doctor at Houston Methodist. "The overarching principles, though, are always the same — build back slowly, listen to your body and see a sports medicine doctor if you have any uncertainty about your injury or recovery process."

Proper rehabilitation isn't just important for ensuring you return to the activities you enjoy as strong as you were before. It's also critical for preventing re-injury or a progression of the injury into something even worse, which can cause even further setback.

Here are Dr. Jotwani's five tips for safely returning to exercise after an injury:

Sometimes it's obvious you need to see a doctor about an injury, like when you feel or hear a pop and immediately know there's a problem.

Other times, it's not so clear. Feeling some pain, you wonder: Is it a short-term thing that I can power through? Or might I make things worse if I keep working out?

"It's really a question best answered by a specialist," says Dr. Jotwani. "If you're having pain for more than a week and it's not going away on its own, it's time to get it evaluated by a sports medicine doctor."

ZMA has been shown to help individuals fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. ZMA may help increase weight loss but it’s not clear if this is true.

For athletes, supplementing with ZMA did show increases in performance. Some performance increases are most likely due to deficiencies in Zinc, Magnesium, and vitamin B6 from training, sweating, or lifestyle or nutrition deficits that could come from dietary preferences or inferior food quality.

The Magnesium in ZMA helps regulate sleep and can make you drowsy.
